NPR Premieres New Demo

The cat's outta the bag! I'm making a new record with Mike Mogis and some of the good folks of Bright Eyes/The Faint/Cursive, but first, NPR is premiering this exclusive bedroom demo of a new song called "If You're Gonna Build A Wall." The track is my reaction to being stuck home with a broken finger and bombarded by the 24-hour news cycle. It's just a sketch of what it will become in the studio, but the social and political issues in it are ones that have been on my mind a lot lately, and I don't think I'm alone in that, so I felt compelled to share it now.
